All Proceeds Benefit Humane Society of Jackson County
The Humane Society of Jackson County is a private, non-profit animal welfare organization that primarily serves the residents and animals of Jackson County, Indiana through our various programs.
What we do:
- Shelter Program: We provide shelter and care to the stray animals picked up by Seymour's Animal Control. As space allows, we also provide shelter and care for cats and dogs in need of rehoming.
- Lost & Found: We help to reunite lost and found pets with their family.
- Adoption Program: Unclaimed stray and unwanted animals that find their way into our shelter are made available for adoption through an application process designed to match pets and families in such a way that both the pet and family is likely to experience a lifetime of love, healthiness, and happiness with one another.
- Rescue Program: This program saves the lives of many shelter pets that do not find a home locally. The shelter manager works with rescue groups all across Indiana and beyond.
- The Big Fix of Jackson County: In coordination with other Jackson County animal welfare groups, we work to reduce companion animal overpopulation through the promotion of spay/neuter programs. This program includes TNR, spay/neuter assistance, and transport efforts.
- Share the Warmth Program: When available, we recycle unwanted dog houses back into the community and provide straw in the winter.
- Pet-Food Pantry: When food is available, we operate a pet-food pantry.
- Provide suggestions regarding animal health and behavior.
